It’s hard to believe that 20 years have passed since we walked the halls of Riverside, but here we are—reflecting on the laughter, the challenges, and the unforgettable moments that shaped us into who we are today. Whether it was rushing to get ready for homecoming, enduring the excitement (and sometimes stress) of prom preparations, or feeling the bittersweet pride of graduation day, those years were filled with experiences that molded us into the people we are now. We lived through some incredible highs, and yes, maybe a few tough moments too—but all of it, the good and the not-so-good, played a role in shaping our journey.
We remember the energy of Friday night football games, the camaraderie with friends as we cheered on our teams, and the spirit of competition that brought us together. Prom was a night of magic for many, while for others it was a little awkward and nerve-wracking, but in the end, it was all part of the unforgettable high school experience. Graduation was a turning point, one that marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, sending us off in different directions but forever connected by our shared memories.
Do you remember the first person you met at RUHS? Do you remember what class you were in on 9/11? Do you remember favorite sport or club? Do you remember when White Tees were banned? Do you remember your favorite teacher/staff? Do you remember your first cellphone? Do you remember rushing out of class to move your car? Do you remember homecoming and prom? Do you remember Box City? Do you remember the commons? Do you remember $5 Hot and ready Pizzas form Little Caesar's. Do you remember graduation? As I type this I'm reminded that everything seemed so critical back then and that we were all in a rush to be grown. Looking back I realize that I miss the simplicity of that season.
As we approach our 20-year reunion, it’s an opportunity to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the journey we’ve all taken. Whether we’ve stayed close or drifted apart, we are all part of this incredible class, and we have so much to be proud of. Let’s come together to share the stories of what life has brought us since those formative years. We hope you can join us to relive those memories and create new ones, because no matter where life has taken us, we’ll always be the Class of 2005.
With excitement and nostalgia,
